Key Features of the GMAT:
1. Sections:
The GMAT consists of four main sections:
- Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA): This section requires test-takers to write an essay analyzing an argument.
- Integrated Reasoning (IR): This section assesses the ability to analyze and synthesize data from various sources.
- Quantitative Reasoning: Measures mathematical and problem-solving skills in algebra, geometry, and arithmetic.
- Verbal Reasoning: Evaluates the capacity to analyze written material, comprehend relationships within sentences, and evaluate arguments.
2. Adaptive Format:
The GMAT utilizes computer-adaptive testing, meaning that the difficulty level of questions adjusts based on the test-taker's responses. Correct answers lead to more challenging questions, while incorrect answers result in easier ones.
3. Score Range:
The GMAT has a total score range of 200 to 800. The Quantitative and Verbal sections are scored from 0 to 60, and these scores are combined to provide the overall score.
4. Preparation:
Effective preparation is crucial for achieving a competitive GMAT score. Many test-takers utilize study materials, practice tests, and coaching to enhance their performance.
5. Test Centers:
The GMAT is administered at various test centers around the world. You can find test center locations and available test dates on the official GMAT website.
6. Business School Admissions:
GMAT scores play a significant role in the admissions process for many business schools. However, admission decisions are often based on a combination of factors, including academic records, work experience, letters of recommendation, essays, and interviews.

It is worth noting that while certain programs accept both the GMAT and GRE, others may have a preference for one test over the other.
On the day of the exam, you will need to bring an international passport as a form of identification.
