THE GRADUATE RECORD EXAMINATION (GRE)
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test commonly used for admissions to graduate schools and business programs worldwide. It assesses your verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills. The GRE is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and is accepted by a wide range of graduate and business schools.

The GRE consists of three main sections:
1. Verbal Reasoning:
This section evaluates your ability to analyze and understand written material, synthesize information, and evaluate relationships between words and concepts.
2. Quantitative Reasoning:
This section assesses your problem-solving abilities in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis. It measures your quantitative aptitude and ability to interpret quantitative information.
3. Analytical Writing:
In this section, you will be required to write two essays:
- Analyse an Issue: You will present your perspective on a given issue and provide reasons and examples to support your viewpoint.
- Analyse an Argument: You will critically analyse an argument and evaluate the logical soundness of the reasoning presented.
The GRE offers both the General Test and Subject Tests. The General Test is commonly required for admission to various graduate programs, while the Subject Tests focus on specific fields of study and are often used to showcase expertise in those areas.
Proper preparation is essential to perform well on the GRE. You can choose to study using prep materials, practice tests, and even GRE-specific courses to improve your scores. Test-takers can take the GRE either as a computer-delivered test or, in some regions, as a paper-delivered test
It is important to note that specific admission requirements and score expectations can vary among schools and programs. At Lincoln City Educational Consult, we will guide you to research the institutions you are interested in to understand their GRE score expectations and other admission criteria.
On the day of the exam, you will need to bring an international passport as a form of identification.
To adequately prepare for the GRE examination, it is recommended to dedicate at least two months of focused preparation.
